When creating a new account do I have to enter a form of payment on file?
Yes and NO… Yes you can enter a form of payment that you want us to use for all of your orders, Or, you can pay for the order (via check and/or credit card) at the time the service is rendered. However, it is absolutely mandatory that you enter a credit card when opening an “ON LIEN SERVICES” Account.
Berto Legal Portal:
When submitting a court filing messenger service, etc., do I have fill in all of the fields in the form?
– No, it is not required . When you check the “Deliver Courtesy Copy” box an additional order is created and additional fees may apply.
How do I edit information on my order once it has been submitted?
– Once an order has been submitted, you cannot change any of the information within the order. Please double check all order information before submitting.
How do I communicate to Berto Legal that I need a special pick up?
– If you require a special pick up, you must notify us by an email or a phone call. Writing your request in special instructions inside the portal is not sufficient.
How do you handle same day “RUSH” orders submitted through the portal?
– RUSH orders are handled within two hours of when the assignment is submitted. For Court e Filing that means filed within 30 minutes; physical filing is within two hours of submission. For Service of Process that means the first attempt will happen within two hours. Our cut-off time is typically 2:30pm. You can still submit an order after the cut-off time, we just need you to call us to communicate that you would like your order attempted the same day.
Account Settings:
How do I retrieve my forgotten password ?
– On the portal login page there is a “Forgot Password?” function. Click on the “Forgot Password” link and enter your user email address to retrieve your forgotten password from your email.
Are there different convenience charges on fees advanced by Berto Legal?
– When any fee is advanced by Berto Legal on your behalf and you pay the fee by Credit Card, there is 4.0%. If we advance a payment by check, there is a $5.00 fee for each check written on behalf of your firm.
